WTxAIA - AIA Component Scholarship Program

AIA West Texas participated in the AIA Component Scholarship Program in 2016, and was awarded $1,000 from the Institute to contribute towards our annual scholarship program. 3 scholarships are given out annually by AIA West Texas, two of which are associated with Texas Tech University, and one administered through the Texas Architectural Foundation (TAF) that can be awarded to a student at any of the accredited architectural schools in Texas. This year, AIA West Texas used the $1,000 grant awarded to the chapter through the AIA Component Scholarship Program to contribute to the West Texas Chapter AIA Scholarship at Texas Tech and the West Texas Chapter AIA Scholarship administered through TAF. The recipients of both of these scholarships for the 2016/17 academic year are both students at Texas Tech University. Caleb Lightfoot is the recipient of the WTCAIA TAF scholarship, and John Darnell is the recipient of the WTCAIA Texas Tech Scholarship. Both students are from areas that our chapter represents, so we are very proud of their accomplishments at Texas Tech, and look forward to support them in their efforts any way we can.

The AIA West Texas Chapter would also like to thank the AIA Component Scholarship Program for their support and for partnering with our chapter to promote and further the education of architecture students from our chapter area.
