WTxAIA - TxA APRIL BOARD MEETING
Last week, the AIA West Texas hosted chapter presidents and directors from around the state. This was the first state board meeting hosted in Midland in over 15 years. We received great feedback from the TxA welcome bags, the Rhotenberry Wellen tour, and the reception at PSC.
We spent a majority of the board meeting discussing core member services. Representing AIA West Texas, Andy and I were proud to report that we were on track to fulfilling the core member services and staying an accredited chapter. We also discussed the possibility of a state shared executive director that all of the non-staffed chapters could use for documentation and secretarial work. James Perry and Micheal Malone said that they heard our concerns and would see what TxA could help with.
The core member services and accreditation process seemed a little daunting and unnecessary at first, but the more we discuss and implement it, the more we think that it will push us to be the type of organization that members are proud to join and participate in. It’s an exciting time and we are glad you are along for the ride!
Thank you,
RJ Lopez, AIA
