ARE 4.0 WEBINAR
In celebration of the 50th anniversary, and its commitment to community outreach, the College of Architecture and Urban Studies of Virginia Tech is offering a free webinar on the Structural Layout Vignette/Structural Systems Division of the architectural Registration Exam (ARE 4.0). The event will take place at 1:00 pm (EDT) on Saturday, August 23rd. To register send an email to setareh@vt.edu with “ARE Registration Request” in the subject box. The webinar covers what every ARE candidate needs to know to successfully complete the examination.
MATERIALS TO BE COVERED:

1. How to use the NCARB’s graphical vignette software.
2. A complete list of what the candidate “MUST” and “MUST NOT” do to successfully pass the exam.
3. A complete solution of a two-level roof framing example following the NCARB’s exam format.
4. Question and Answer: The candidates will have the opportunity to get answers to their questions on the vignette from the webinar instructor.

THE INSTRUCTOR:
The instructor is Dr. Mehdi Setareh, P.E. He is a professor of Architecture at the Virginia Tech School of Architecture and Design. He has over twenty-four years of experience in teaching structures to architecture students. Dr. Setareh has also presented seminars on the Architectural Registration Examination in the Washington DC area since 2001. He is the author of the textbook “Concrete Structures” published by Prentice-Hall.
